PENDETEKSIAN DAN PERGERAKAN SCHOOLING IKAN PELAGIS MENGGUNAKAN METODE HIDROAKUSTIK DI PERAIRAN SELAT BANGKA PROPINSI BANGKA BELITUNG
Study on detection and movement of pelagic fish school using hidroacoustic method in Bangka strait has been done in two steps. The first step acoustic and oceanography survey which have been done in July 1901 – 2401 2008. The second step was data processing which have been done in August 2008 - January 2009 at Research Center for Capture Fisheries, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Jakarta. The aim of this study was to detection and movement of pelagic fish school using hidroacoustic method in Bangka strait Bangka Belitung province. Data collecting of acoustic and oceanography conducted alongside of transect acoustic which in form of parallel as long as 633.9 sea mile and it was divided in 12 station. The r e suit showed that the highest density ofpelagic fish in the study area was 1,811 fish/1000m3 with depth between 5-10 m. Small pelagic fish was dominated with target strength (-50) to (-47) dB it means the estimation of the body length is 07.10 to 10.47 cm which was 1,539 fish/1000m3. Amount of schooling fish detected 53 fish schooling with density 0-300 fish/lOOOm3. In general, movement of pelagic fish schooling moves to south until south east to continent. Based on fisherman's catch and acoustic data it found that shrimp scadfish is a dominant species in this strait.
