PREPARASI KALSIUM OKSIDA DARI CANGKANG KEPITING BAKAU (scylla sp) DAN PENGGUNAANNYA DALAM SINTESIS BIODIESEL DARI MINYAK JELANTAH, MINYAK KELAPA SAWIT DAN MINYAK KELAPA
Preparation of calcium oxide from crab shell through decompotition at 3 hours at various temperatures 700°C, 800°C, 900°C, 1000°C and 1100°C was done. Calcium oxide from preparation was characterized using X-Ray Diffractometer (XRD) , FT-IR spectrophotometer and SEM-EDX analysis. Calcium oxide from characterization was applied for biodiesel synthesis from waste cooking oil, palm oil and coconut oil. The results of XRD show diffraction pattem of CaO from preparation at 900°C similar with CaO pattem from JCPDS with 20 value : 32.2°, 37.4°,64.2° and 67.4°. FT-IR spectrum show existence of CaO vibration at wavenumber 393.26 cm'1. SEM-EDX analysis show surface morphology of decomposed crab shell at 900°C more homogenous than the original crab shell. Acid value of biodiesel from is waste cooking oil 0.187 mg/KOH, for palm oil is 0.178 mg/KOH and for coconut oil is 0.124 mg/KOH respectively.Viscosity of biodiesel from waste cooking oil is 5.26 cSt, for palm oil is 3.63 cSt and for coconut oil is 2.43 cSt. Density of biodiesel from waste cooking oil is 0.86 g/cm3, from palm oil is 0.87 g/cm3 and from coconut oil is 0.86 g/cm3. Iodine number of biodiesel from waste cooking oil is 105.98 gl2/100g, from palm oil is 104.76 gl2/100g and from coconut oil is 29.23 gl2/100g. All characterization data of biodiesel are in the range of biodiesel SNI Standard.
