PENGARUH KUAT ARUS DAN WAKTU ELEKTROKOAGULASI TERHADAP PENURUNAN PH, TSS, TDS, MINYAK DAN COD DALAM POME
The objective of this research was to determine the effect of using aluminum electrodes on the electrocoagulation process with different amount of current and operating time on decreasing pH, TSS, TDS, oil and COD levels in POME. This study used a Completely Randomized Factorial Design (RALF) with two treatment factors and was repeated 3 times. The first factor is the amount of current (10 Ampere, 40 Ampere, 70 Ampere and 100 Ampere) and the second factor is operating time (1 hours, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours and 5 hours). Parameters observed were pH, levels of TSS, TDS and oil. The results showed that amount of current, operating time and the interaction between the two had a significant effect on pH, TSS, TDS and oil levels. The best treatment is selected based on a value that is close to the quality standard of Palm Oil Mill Effluent in accordance with the Regulation of the Ministry of the Environment of the Republic of Indonesia number 5 of 2014 concerning the quality standard of waste water. Treatment with a amount of current of 70 Ampere and an operating time of 5 hours was chosen as the best treatment with efficiency in reducing pH, TSS, TDS, oil and COD levels of 4,9%, 91.7%, 16.2%, 93.8% and 86,7% respectively.
