Peat land is a marginal land that less optimum in agriculture. On wide land that sufficent in Indonesia, peat land must be managed well also consider in terms characteristics of this land to be a potential land. Kebun Raya Sriwijaya is a botanical garden with medicinal plants conservation area, flowering plants that based of wet land at Sumatera Selatan. In 2019 Kebun Raya Sriwijaya undergo wildfire that until now there was no effort to replanting. There for have to replanting with plant assessed as suitable that is Mahogany. Mahogany is medicinal plant also plants who can be air filter. This research aims to determine the characteristics of ex-burn peatland in Kebun Raya Sriwijaya, to assess the actual land suitability of mahagony plant (Swietenia macrophylla) on ex-burnt peatland in Kebun Raya Sriwijaya and to provide recomendations for assessing the potential land suitability of mahagony plant (Swietenia macrophylla)on ex-burnt peatland in Kebun Raya Sriwijaya. The research was conducted on March-April 2021 at Kebun Raya Sriwijaya, Bakung Village, Ogan Ilir Regency, Sumatera Selatan. The method used was to detailed survey levels at peat land post-fire with extensive of land 12 hectares. The result of this research is on actual suitability in peat land at this location there had 2 class suitability that is Nnr and Nrc,nr with boundary factors brunt based on soil reaction (pH) and peat depth the value N (Not Suitable), after effort to repair then the result of potential land suitability there had 3 class suitability that is S2rc, S3rc and Nrc with boundary factors brunt based on peat depth and from 4 SPT classified, are 2 SPT that are quite suitable and marginally suitable for developing mahagony plants with an area of 5ha or 41,5% of the research area.
