This second editions builds on the first with an expanded and more comprehensive treatment, consistent reservoir example, expanded prerequisites, concepts, algorithms, and applications. The preparition of this much expanded text provided an opportunity to modernize the presentation eith the exciting new developments from the past decade and improve the linkages to the geology. Descriptions of the data and thought process associated eith problem formulations are much expanded.
This book presents geostatistical tools for building numerical geological models of probleum reservoirs. The use of geostatistical tools for modeling resevoir heterogeneities and assessing uncertainty in reservoir forecasting has increased significantly since the 1990s. There are many technical papers; however, few collected work exist to bring together the practive of petroleum geostatiscs geostatistics into a coherent framework
