HUBUNGAN KONDISI KARANG BERCABANG TERHADAP KEBERADAAN IKAN INDIKATOR (Chaetodon octofasclatus), DI EKOSISTEM TERUMBU KARANG PULAU AYER, KEPULAUAN SERIBU, JAKARTA
The aim of this research was to know correlation Butterflyfishes (Chaetodon octofasciatus) as indicator toward to percentage cover of coral branching at Ayer Island, Archipelago of Seribu, Jakarta. The research result would give description about coral condition mainly about kind of coral branching based on abundance of Chaetodon octofasciatus. This research was held on 15-17 Decembers 2008. The method was used to observe Chaetodon octofasciatus that doing by visual census. Coral condition known with used Square transect. Coral percentage was calculated using program Vidana version 1.0.1 beta. Correlation of Chaetodon octofasciatus with percentage cover was analyzed with a simple regression linier method. Condition of coral in territorial water Ayer Island was good. The low percentage cover of lifeform at Station III was 28,1% and the high percentage cover at the Station I was 61,4%. Chaetodon octofasciatus was Found 82 individual during this research at all location. Station I and III was found 26 individual/250m2. Stasiun II and IV was found 14 individual/250m2 and 16 individual/250m2. Based on regression linier that was found positive correlation percentage cover of Acropora branching with fish indicator (Chaetodon octofasciatus). The correlation of simple regression linier Y = 0,37x + 16,10 with regression koefisien (r = 0,79). The result of this analyse indicates that, if abudance of Chaetodon octofasciatus is high so score of percentage cover Acropora is high too.
