HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK IBU DAN ASUPAN ZAT GIZI DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING PADA ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS AIR BELITI
ABSTRACT Background: Stunting is a condition of growth and development failure experienced by children due to inadequate nutritional intake for a long time due to inadequate nutritional intake for a very long time, as well as recurrent infectious diseases, and inadequate psychosocial stimuli. Children who experience stunting, especially at an early age, may also experience growth retardation in other organs, including the brain. The incidence of stunting in rural areas is higher than in urban areas. Mothers and nutritional intake play a very important role in preventing stunting in children. Objective: To analyze the relationship between maternal characteristics and nutrient intake with the incidence of stunting and to determine the incidence of stunting in elementary school children in the Air Beliti Health Center Work Area. Methods: This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional research design. With a sample of 84 children taken using simple random sampling technique from elementary schools in the Air Beliti Health Center Working Area. Stunting was determined based on anthropometric measurements with height measurements and grouped according to the Z-score, namely stunting (≤ 2 SD) and not stunting (> 2 SD). Nutritional intake data was collected using food recall 3x 24 hours, data on maternal characteristics were obtained through research questionnaire sheets.
