Chili is a plant that is most often found to contain pesticides and heavy metals. Arsenic contamination in chili can occur through the application of fertilizers, pesticides, irrigation water, and natural factors in the soil content. Arsenic can cause anemia, heart problems, liver disorders, skin hyperpigmentation, keratosis, dermatitis, and death. Chili is a national superior crop because it is a commodity that is indispensable for all levels of society, so it is important to analyze its safety. This study aims to analyze the health risks that arise from consuming chilies contaminated with arsenic. This research is descriptive research with the Environmental Health Risk Analysis method. The research respondents were one hundred and thirty-six people and seven samples of chili with a weight of 5 grams per sample. The sampling technique used was the purposive sampling technique. Analysis of the arsenic content was carried out using the inductively coupled plasma method. Based on the results, the highest concentration of arsenic in chili was 0.231 mg/kg, with an average of 0.195 mg/kg. The results of the analysis show that the people of Tanjung Pering Village have a real-time risk of causing carcinogenic effects because 10.3% of the 136 respondents have an ECR value of 10-4. To avoid health risks, people are advised to consume chili according to the safe intake rate and to consume vitamin E and selenium as antioxidants against arsenic toxicity.
