EVALUASI STATUS BASA-BASA, Al-dd DAN PENENTUAN REKOMENDASI PUPUK UNTUK TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) DI KEBUN PERCOBAAN FAKULTAS PERTANIAN LOKASI GELUMBANG
The Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture located in Gelumbang is a stretch of land dominated by rubber trees (Hevea brasiliensis) aged ± 30 years with an area of ± 46 ha. The land will be used to perform replanting for annual and other plants with similar seasonal cycles including maize. This study aims to ascertain alkali status (K, Ca, Mg), Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC), Alumunium exchangeable, and recommendations of K, Ca, and Mg fertilizers for the growth of maize in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture of Sriwijaya University. This study uses the detail level survey method with a scale of 1:5000 by obtaining samples of fertile soil at a depth of 0–30 cm. The number of samples to be taken is 46 which will then be composited according to the color and texture of the originating field and 16 samples will be analyzed. K, Ca, and Mg fertilizer recommendations will be made based on the results of the laboratory analyses. The soil at the Experimental Garden yielded an acidic H2O pH status for 7 ha of the land and a highly acidic status for 39 ha of the land, low Potassium levels for 46 ha, very low Calcium levels for 46 ha, very low Magnesium levels for 4 ha, low for 6 ha, moderate for 31 ha, and high for 5 ha, very low Aluminum saturation for 45 ha and low for 1 ha, and low cation-exchange capacity for 46 ha. The lack of K, Ca, and Mg soil nutrients can be corrected by addition of inputs in the form of KCl fertilizers with an average dose of 56.42 kg ha−1, dolomite fertilizers with an average dose of 944.08 kg ha−1, and calcite fertilizers with an average dose of 2,040.63 kg ha−1.
