The 2nd degree burns was the highest percentage of burns with urgency that must be overcome immeditely, and causes infection, dehydration and complications. Etanol extract of Kleinhovia hospita leaves contains secondary metabolite of flavonoid, alkaloid, tannin, saponin and steroid that can accelerate the burns healing process. The aims of this research are to determine the effect of tahongai leaves ethanol extract on burn healing percentage (% recovery), burn healing time, and skin histopathology at animal test. The animals test consided of 25 male rats (Sprague dawley age 2-3 month, weighig 100-150 g) rats were divided into 5 treatment groups, it was the positive group and received Lanakeloid® 1 g/KgBB, the negative group (no treatment) and group I-III received the extract at doses of 250, 500 and 750 mg/KgBW. Parameters observed included wound area, percentage of burn healing, time of burn healing, and skin histopathology. Data of burn area were analyzed using the one-way ANOVA test to see the difference on a particular day of observation. The results of research on the etanol extract K. hospita leaves gave % recovery of burns in the positive, negative, K1, K2, and K3 groups on the 16th day each of 96.632%; 83.416%; 97.756%; 98.610% dan 100%. Based on the journey of burns healing, K3 (750 mg/KgBW) is the best variation dose in burn healing compared to other groups with the highest % recovery and fastest healing time of 100% within 16 days. Histopathological features on 14th day shows of epithelial and collagen formation. Administration of the test substance trigger ephitelialization and collagenization processes. K3 gave the best epithelialization (402.773 µm) compare to the positive group (152.397 µm) and the best collagenization formation is K3 with a lot of collagen fibers, evenly distributed, dense and thick.
