UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIDIARE EKSTRAK ETANOL KULIT BUAH KAKAO (THEOBROMA CACAO L) PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR YANG DIINDUKSI CASTOR OIL
Cocoa pods (Theobroma cacao L) are widely used by the public as traditional medicine have a high content of secondary metabolites. The content of secondary metabolites of cocoa pods which act as antidiarrheal steroid compounds, saponins, tannins and flavonoids. This study aims to see the effect of giving cocoa pods to the antidiarrheal effect. This study was conducted using the in vivo method using male white rats of the Wistar strain induced by castor oil. The treatment group was divided into 5 groups: negative control, positive control, and dose groups of 200, 400 and 800 mg/kgBW. The negative control was given Na-CMC suspension, the positive was given Loperamide HCL. Parameters of the initial time of diarrhea occurred at the 60th minute to the 137th minute. Stool weight, frequency of diarrhea, changes in body weight, stool diameter, stool consistency have an effect as an antidiarrheal effect at a dose of 800 mg/kgBW. The results showed that the antidiarrheal effect of a dose of 200 mg/kgBW was 26.939%, a dose of 400 mg/kgbw was 44.444%, a dose of 800 mg/kgbw was 50.593%. significantly different from the positive control (p>0.05). The ED50 value of the ethanolic extract of cocoa pods as an antidiarrheal obtained was 725.944 mg/kgbb. Key words: Antidiarrheal, castor oil, Flavonoids, Theobroma cacao L.
