The research objective was to determine the relationship between optimism and subjective well-being in unemployed young adults. There were 3 hyphothesis’ in this study : there is a relationship between optimism and: (1) pleasant affect; (2) unpleasant affect; (3) life satisfaction on unemployed young adults. The participants of this study were unemployed young adults in Indonesia. Sampling in this study using purposive sampling technique. Subjective well-being scale refers to components of subjective well-being from Diener, Suh, Lucas, and Smith (1999). To measure optimism using a optimism scale that refers to dimensions of Seligman (2008). Statistical analysis completed by using pearson product moment correlation.
