ISOLASI STIGMAST-4-EN-3-ON DARI FRAKSI NONPOLAR DAUN PINANG (Areca catechu L.)

The stigmast-en-3-on have been isolated from nonpolar fraction of methanol extract of betel nut leaves (Areca catechu L.)- The extraction was done by maceration. Separation and purification was conducted by chromatographic techniques. The isolated compound was yellow solids with melting point 97-99°C. The structure of this compound was determined base on spectroscopic data including UV, 1R, 13C-NMR, 'H-NMR, HSQC, HMBC dan COSY. Based on spectral data analysis were suggested that the isolated compound is steroid, namely stigmast-4-en-3-on or B-sitostenon.
