EKSTRAKSI DAN IDENTIFIKASI KOMPONEN UTAMA MINYAK ATSIRI RIMPANG TEMULAWAK (Curcuma xanthorrhiza ) DAN RIMPANG TEMU KUNCI (Kaempferia pandurata) SERTA AKTIVITAS ANTILARVASIDANYA
Aedes aegypti mosquito is a vector of the Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) disease. Control of Aedes aegypti as a vector needs to be done appropriately and environmental friendly. Temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb) and Temu Kunci ( Kaemferia pandurata Roxb) are known to have potential as a source of natural insecticide as it contains potential compounds in their essential oil which has larvacidal activity. The aim of this study is to test the activity of essential oil from temulawak, temu kunci and their combination against larvae of Aedes aegypty. The issolation of essential oil was done by steam distillation method. Analysis of essential oil compounds was carried out with Gas Chromatography - Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). Larvacidal activity assay of essential oil from temulawak, temu kunci and the combination of the essential oil showed the result of LC50; 24 h at concentration 27,939 ppm, 41,383 ppm and 17,774 ppm respectively and for LC50 ; 48 h at concentration 12,910 ppm, 13,432, and 4,545 ppm respectively. Based on the peak retency the essential oil from temulawak were dominated by 6 mayor compounds such as champor (4,64%), P-farnesene (3,64%), curcumene (25,99%), furanodiene (5,21%), a-cedrene (32,71%) and achamigrene (14,22 %) and for the essential oil from temu kunci were dominated by 5 compounds such as eucalyptol (13,97%), trans-P-osimene (18,45%), champor (28,11%), geraniol (28,23%) and methyl cinnamate (3,71%).
