HUBUNGAN KUALITAS TIDUR DENGAN INDEKS MASSA TUBUH PADA MAHASISWA PSPD FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Background: Sleep quality is a condition in which the sleep experienced by a person results in fitness and freshness upon awakening. However, often the need for sleep is not properly, causing a decrease in sleep quality. In theory, sleep quality is one of the factors that can affect changes in body mass index. This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and body mass index (BMI) in students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University. Method: This study used an observational analytic study with a cross sectional data collection design. This research was conducted from March to May 2021 at the Sriwijaya University Faculty of Medicine using primary data in the form of BMI values and filling out the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaire to assess sleep quality. Result: As many as 75 research subjects, the results showed that 85,2% study subjects had good sleep quality with a normal BMI, 47,9% had good sleep quality with an abnormal BMI, 52,1% had poor sleep quality with a normal BMI and 14,8% had poor sleep with an abnormal BMI. Conclusion: Statistically, there is a significant relationship between sleep quality and body mass index in students Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University with P value of 0.004.
