PENGARUH MEMBACA AL-QUR'AN TERHADAP KUALITAS TIDUR MAHASISWA FAKULTAS KEDOKTERAN UNIVERSITAS SRIWIJAYA
Medical students are one of the subgroups of the general population that are vulnerable to poor sleep quality. Al-Qur'an therapy can influence the hypothalamus to release endorphins which function to respond to stress and relax the body so that it may affect sleep quality. This study aims to determine the effect of reading the Qur'an on sleep quality in students of Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University, Palembang.. This research is a Quasi-experimental research with Non Equivalent Control Group design. The sample is a student of the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University batch 2018 who meets the inclusion criteria. The data used is primary data taken through a self-administered questionnaire given before and after the intervention of reading the Qur'an for 6 consecutive days at 22.00 WIB. The research subjects were 54 students. The results of the Wilcoxon test found that in the control group the difference in sleep quality before and after showed no significant difference (p=0,263) p>α, while in the intervention group the difference in sleep quality before and after reading the Qur'an showed a significant difference.
