Background: The current Covid-19 pandemic has caused many patients to be hospitalized, on the other hand, the incidence of MRSA bacterial infection is also quite high in patients undergoing treatment at the hospital, this will increase the risk of Covid-19 patients being infected by bacteria. MRSA, if the infection occurs, it will result in more complicated patient management, and an increase in the mortality rate in these patients. Method: This study is an observational descriptive study to show the incidence of infection and the pattern of antibiotic susceptibility of Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) bacteria in Covid-19 patients treated at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, the research was conducted using secondary data from medical records for the period March 2020 - September 2021. Results: Of the 2691 Covid-19 patients being treated, 14 patients (0.52%) were infected by the MRSA bacteria. MRSA bacteria are resistant to benzylpenicillin (100%), oxacillin (100%), clindamycin (46.7%), erythromycin (46.7%), on the other hand, MRSA bacteria were sensitive to ciprofloxacin (73.3%), linezolid (100%), gentamicin (80,0%), tetracycline (60.0%), vancomycin (80.0%). Conclusion: The incidence of MRSA bacterial infection in Covid-19 patients tends to be low, this can be seen with only 14 infected patients being found, and the MRSA bacteria are already resistant to antibiotics benzylpenicillin, oxacillin, clindamycin, erythromycin, and for antibiotics that are still sensitive, among others ciprofloxacin, linezolid, gentamicin, tetracycline, vancomycin. Keywords: Covid-19, Staphylococcus aureus, Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA, antibiotic resistance.
