PENGARUH KOMPOSISI ZEOLIT DAN GULA TEBU TERHADAP SIFAT KATALIS KOMPOSIT ZEOLIT-KARBON SULFONAT
This research about the influence of zeolite and sugarcane composition to characters of sulfonated zeolite-carbon composite catalyst was done. Sulfonated zeolite-carbon composite catalysts were conducted with variation of zeolitesugarcane content ratio 1:3, 1:2, 1:1, 2:1, 3:1 and control. The carbonization process was done at 400°C for 15 hours and sulfonation process was used H2SO4 refluxed at 175°C for 15 hours. The result showed that sulfonated zeolite-carbon composite catalyst with content ratio 1:3 can be used as an effective in esterification reaction and showed ethyl acetat % conversion value 96,33%. The molecule weight of ethyl acetat was checked by GC-MS; it was found the molecule weight 88 g/mol. The characterization of catalyst owned the acidity of 10,80 mmol/g; which was estimated as being the total amount of SO3H per gram of catalyst . The FT1R spectrume showed the sulfonic acid group absorbabilty at 1064,71 cm"1 and also showed functionalities including C=C (1627,92 cm'1) and OH (3417,86 cm'1). The EDX showed for sulfonated char; S content was found that 0,49 wt%.
