PENGARUH VARIASI TEMPERATUR DAN PERSENTASE METANOL TERHADAP KARAKTERISTIK BIODIESEL DARI MINYAK BIJI KEPAYANG (Pangium edule, REINW)
The research of temperature variation influence and methanol percentace to the characteristic of biodiesel from kepayang seed oil’s (Pangium edule, REINW) which done by using natrium hidroksida catalyst. Transesterification process of kepayang seed oil’s done at temperature 50 °C, 60 °C and 70 °C and with the percentage of metanol and kepayang seed oil (20% : 80%); (30% : 70%); (40% : 60%); (50% : 50%); and (60% : 40%). The characteristic of methyl ester produced fforn process transesterification analyzed by measuring viscosity kinematika, specifik gravity, cetane index, destilation, residu carbon, water content, sulfur content, sedimen by extraction, and flash point. The analyse result show that the optimum condition of methyl ester the comparison between methanol and kepayang seed oil (40% : 60%) in amount Of 91.66%. The characteristics show that the comparison of methyl ester (40% : 60%) at 60 °C with 6.087 cSt of viscosity kinematika; 0.8952 g/cm3 of density; 149 °C of flash point; 42.58 of cetane index; 0.035 % weight carbon residu; 1.053 % weight content of sediment; 21.23 ppm of the sulfur content; and 374.46 ppm of water content.
