ANALISIS FAKTOR RISIKO KESEIMBANGAN BERJALAN PADA LANSIA DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Gait balance is the ability to maintain the body in a sequence of walking movements that integrates the musculoskeletal and neurological systems with environmental factors. Failure to maintain walking balance is common in the elderly. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the identification of risk factors for walking balance in the elderly. This study applied an observational analysis with cross-sectional design. Data sampling was obtained by using the simple random sampling method from members of the Majelis Taklim Asmaul Husna of Palembang whom met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. The data used is primary data taken by interview and examination of the Dynamic Gait Index. The data collected was analyzed univariately and bivariately. Univariately, the data is presented in the form of a frequency distribution table as well as a narrative that interprets walking balance, age, previous history of falls, walking speed, and body mass index. Meanwhile, bivariate analysis was conducted to see the relationship between those variables. The results showed that there was a relationship between risk factors (age, body mass index, walking speed, and history of falls) with walking balance in the elderly. It can be concluded that there is a relationship between risk factors (age, body mass index, walking speed, and history of falls) with walking balance in the elderly.
