MODIFIKASI METODE PENGUMPAN PADA ALAT PENGIRIS GADUNG SECARA SIMULTAN (KISS) PADA BERBAGAI KECEPATAN PUTARAN TERHADAP EFISIENSI KERJA DAN HASIL IRISAN SEBAGAI SUMBER ENERGI UNTUK BUDIDAYA TANAMAN SELADA (Lactuca sativa var. crispa L.)
The research objective was to determine the effect of modified feeding method of simultaneous peeling and slicing equipment for gadung at several rotational speeds on work efficiency and gadung slice yield. The experimental design used in this research was Factorial Randomized Block Design with two factors of treatment and three replications for each treatment combination. The first factor treatment was disc rotational speed consisting of Rj (140 rpm), R2 (160 rpm) and R3 (180 rpm), respectively. The second factor treatment was feeding method consisting of Ij (throw in) and I2 (hold on). The observed parameters were consisted of gadung slice thickness, capacity and efficiency. The result showed that treatment combination of R3I1 (disc rotational speed of 180 rpm and throw in method) had the highest capacity, whereas treatment combination of R3I2 (disc rotational speed of 180 rpm and hold on method) had the highest efficiency. The best treatment combination in term of gadung slice thickness which approximately close to theoretical thickness was R2I2 (disc rotational speed of 160 rpm and hold on method)
