Market Development in Karang Endah Selatan Hamlet II, Muara Enim Regency 1999-2017 (Contribution of Economic History Lectures). The problems of this research are: 1) What is the history of the development of social markets in Dusun II Karang Endah Selatan in 1999-2017?, How is the progress of social markets in Dusun II Karang Endah Selatan community 1999-2017?, What is the role of figures in the development of social markets in Dusun II Karang Endah Selatan 1999-2017? The objectives of this research are: 1) Knowing the Development of the Market in South Hamlet II Karang Endah in 1999-2017, 2) Knowing the Progress of the Market in the Community of South Endah Hamlet II 1999-2017, 3) Knowing who the figures who played a role in Development of the Market Market in Karang Endah Selatan Hamlet II Society 1999-2017. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative method, which is to describe the empirical reality behind the phenomenon in depth, in detail and in a systematic way. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The existence of the Market has increasingly influenced the development of the community in Hamlet II Karang Endah Selatan. This development can be seen from the economic sector. The role of the Kalangan Market is indirectly able to increase the income of the surrounding community, 2) The Kalangan Market is a trade that is able to revive the area of South Hamlet II Karang Endah. The growth of this market has fallen due to the 1998 economic crisis that hit all parts of Indonesia. This case made the concern of the Kalangan Market, so that in the Kalangan Association the problem of the economic crisis affecting them was discussed. The mechanism carried out by the Kalangan Market traders in overcoming the economic crisis is sweet fruit. It was proven that at the end of 1999 the economic condition of the Kalangan Market had stabilized. In the aftermath of the economic crisis, the Kalangan Market experienced an increase in visitors, 3) The role of the figures in the Development of the Kalangan Market in South Karang Endah Hamlet II in the economic field, the Kalangan Market was said to be very good because the village government program was beneficial to the people of Karang Endah Hamlet II in the long term short or long term in order to improve the economy of the people of South Endah Karang II Village
