Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada peran psychological capital terhadap grit. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah ada peran psychological capital terhadap grit pada mahasiswa yang memiliki IPK rendah. Dalam penelitian ini terdapat 150 responden program sarjana di Universitas Sriwijaya. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah sampling purposive. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah skala psychological capital yang mengacu pada komponen psychological capital oleh Luthans, Youssef and Avolio (2007) dan skala grit pada aspek grit oleh Duckworth, Peterson, Matthews, and Kelly (2007). Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil analisis regresi menunjukan nilai R square = 0,186, F = 33,741 dan p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). Hal ini menunjukan bahwa psychological capital memiliki peran terhadap grit. Dengan demikian, hipotesis penelitian ini dapat diterima dimana kontribusi psychological capital terhadap grit adalah sebesar 18,6%. The aim of the study is determining whether there is a role of psychological capital towards grit. This study hypothesis that there is a role of psychological capital toward grit on college students with low GPA. This study used 150 respondents of undergraduate programme in Sriwijaya University. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The measuring instruments that used is psychological capital scale which refers to component of psychological capital by Luthans, Youssef and Avolio (2007) and a grit scale that refers to grit grit aspects by Duckworth, Peterson, Matthews, and Kelly (2007). Data analysis used simple regression. The result of simple regression shows R square = 0,186, F = 33,741 and p = 0,000 (p < 0,05). This means that psychological capital has a role toward grit. Thus, the hypothesis could be accepted and psychological capital contribution towards grit is 18,6%.
