EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN MEDIA ANIMASI TERHADAP PERUBAHAN SIKAP TERKAIT IKLAN ROKOK PADA MAHASISWA DI PERGURUAN TINGGI KOTA PALEMBANG
Smoking behavior in Indonesia is increasing, even though restrictions have been imposed on cigarette advertisements regarding the dangers of smoking. Smoking behavior in collage students is often encountered. Collage students who are in their late teens have not been able to be critical in dealing with cigarettes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of animation media on behaviour related to cigarette advertising. This study used secondary data from the UNSRI Sateks research, Comprehensive Intervention on Teen Smokers in Palembang through the Peer Educator Approach in 2020 and is a quantitative study with a Quasi Experimental study design with Pretest-Posttest with Control Group. The sample of this study was 44 students as the treatment group and 44 students as the control group. The data analysis used are independent t test with Wilcoxon alternative test and independent t test with Mann Whitney alternative test. The results showed that there were differences in behavior before and after being given education using animation media related to cigarette advertising in the treatment group (p = 0.042), while in the control group there were also differences in behavior before and after being given education using the counseling method (p = 0.034). Animation media and counseling can both influence behavior related to cigarette advertising, but based on statistical results, animation media is more effective in increasing behavior related to cigarette advertising with a mean difference of 0.477. The College can strengthen the regulation of KTR (Non-Smoking Area) in the campus environment. Researchers can further use the use of animation and extension media to get better intervention effectiveness.
