HUBUNGAN USIA DENGAN KADAR ANTIBODI PASCA VAKSINASI PERTAMA DAN KEDUA SARS-COV-2 DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Background: The COVID-19 vaccination was used to reduce the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Vaccines are known as the most economical and effective method to control and prevent infectious diseases. There are many factors that can affect the immune response to vaccination. Age can affect the decline in immune function and post-vaccination antibody levels. The purpose of this study was to analyze the association between age with levels of the first and the second post vaccination IgG SARS-CoV-2 antibody. Methods: This study is an analytic observational study using a cross-sectional or potong lintang study design individuals who carry out the second COVID-19 vaccination from Educational Institutions and Government Agencies in Palembang City who meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria with the Consecutive Sampling technique. This research was conducted from March to July 2021. The data in this study were obtained using a questionnaire and venous blood samples were taken to determine the levels of IgG SARS CoV-2 antibodies. The data were then analyzed univariately and bivariately (to determine the relationship between variables) using the SPSS application. Results: From the 65 respondents, there were 18 people (27,7%) with high antibody levels and 47 people (72,3%) with low antibody levels after the first vaccination and there were 34 people (52.3%) with high antibody levels and 31 people (47.7%) with low antibody levels after the second vaccination. Based on the results of the analysis using the Somers'd test showed that the relationship between age and IgG levels after the first vaccination (p = 0.721) and (r = 0.034) which means that there is no significant relationship, then the relationship between age and IgG levels after the first vaccination (p = 0.192) and (r=-0.128) which means that there is no significant relationship. Conclusion: There is no significant association between age and the levels of IgG SARS-CoV-2 antibodies after the first and second vaccination. Keywords: Age, antibody levels, IgG, SARS-CoV-2, inactivated vaccine.
