HUBUNGAN FAKTOR MATERNAL TERHADAP KEJADIAN BERAT BADAN LAHIR RENDAH DI RSUP DR. MOH. HOESIN PALEMBANG
Indonesia has several health problems that are still the focus of the government until now. In the Rakerkesnas Kementerian Kesehatan in 2019, it was stated that there were five focuses of health problems, one of which was the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and the Infant Mortality Rate (IMR), which were still quite high. Overall, 15-20% of all births worldwide are low birth weight babies, representing more than 20 million births per year. Low birth weight (LBW) according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is defined as a baby with a birth weight of less than or equal to 2500 grams. LBW is influenced by several factors, namely maternal factors, fetal factors, placental factors and environmental factors. Babies with LBW have a 20 times greater risk of death than babies with normal birth weights. Some babies with LBW are more at risk of health problems in the first days of life and can also continue to have health problems later in life. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of maternal factors that significantly influence the incidence of low birth weight in Dr. RSUP. Moh. Hoesin Palembang. This research is an analytical observational study with a case control study design, where the case group will be compared with the control group based on the maternal risk factors studied (independent variables) in this study. The population in this study were mothers who gave birth who were recorded in the medical records of RSUP Dr. Moh. Hoesin Palembang for the period July 2020-July 2021, which consists of a case population and a control population. The sample of this study was the mothers who gave birth recorded in the medical records with a sample size of 77 for each group. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. In this study, data analysis consisted of descriptive and inferential analysis using the STATA Version 15 program. The results of this study were obtained from a total of 154 respondents, the majority of respondents were aged 20-35 years, had secondary and higher education, had low parity, and the average birth spacing was >2 years. Respondents mostly had ANC visits 37 weeks with maternal anemia and prehypertension and the majority with a history of negative COVID-19. The variables of maternal age, maternal education, parity, birth spacing, ANC frequency and blood pressure were statistically insignificant (p value >0 05). Variable gestational age, anemia, and history of COVID statistically significant (p value ≤ 0 ,19 were 05) with gestational age being the most dominant va riable in the incidence of low birth weight.
