EFEK EKSTRAK GAMBIR (Uncaria gambir) TERHADAP DURASI PENYAMBUHAN LUKA PASCA PENCABUTAN GIGI (Uji In Vivo pada Tikus Jantan Galur Wistar)
Introduction: Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure involving part of the bone tissue, the soft tissue from the oral cavity. Natural treatment was needed to reduce complications and help the wound healing process. Gambier extract contained catechins and tannins, which were anti-inflammatory and antibacterial which helped the wound healing process. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of gambier’s extract (Uncaria gambir) on wound healing after tooth extraction of male Wistar rats (Rattus Novergicus). Materials and Methods: The ingredients in this study were gambier extracts. This research was a true experimental in vivo study with posttest only control group design. The total sample of the study was 30 male Wistar rats divided into three groups, namely the positive control group (glycerin iodine), the treatment group (gambir extract ointment) and the negative control group (plasebo ointment). Medication was administered twice a day until the wound was completely closed and records were made. Data were analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test and continued by using the Pairwise Comparison test. Results: The results showed that gambier extract ointment could heal wounds starting on the 12th day. The Kruskal Wallis test showed that there were significant differences between all groups (P 0.05. Conclusion: Gambir extract ointment with a concentration of 10% could speed up the duration of wound healing after tooth extraction of male Wistar rats (Rattus novergicus).
