Based on the preliminary survey results at 3 rice milling plants in Buay Madang Timur Sub-District Ogan Komering Ulu Timur District, namely Tiga Saudara, Mulya Sari, and Jaya Abadi rice milling plant, there is rice dust exposure that has the potential to cause lung function disorders. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of rice dust exposure to lung function disorder in rice mill workers. This research includes quantitative/observational analytical research with cross sectional design. The population is 66 people and the sample is 60 people. Sampling was done using probability sampling techniques. Data obtained by measuring the rice dust levels, lung function, and interviews. Data was analyzed using frequency, chi-square/fisher’s exact, and binary logistic regression tests. The results showed that rice dust exposure (P-value = 1,000), gender (P-value = 1,000), and smoking habits (P-value = 0,755) have no effect to lung function disorder, while age (P-value = 0,052), exercise habits (P-value = 0,003), use of mask (P-value = 0,001), and work period (P-value = 0,030) have an effect to lung function disorder. It can be concluded that rice dust exposure, gender, and smoking habits have no effect on lung function disorders in rice mill workers in Buay Madang Timur Sub-District Ogan Komering Ulu Timur District. Lung function disorders in rice mill workers in Buay Madang Timur Sub-District Ogan Komering Ulu Timur District effected by age, exercise habits, use of mask, and work period. So the advices given is to build off additional ventilations or door in the rice mill area for owner, and to wearing at least 2 layers of cloth used as a mask for worker.
