EFEKTIFITAS METIL EIJGENOL TERHADAP TANGKAPAN LALAT BUAH Bactrocera dorsalis HEND. (DIPTERA: TEPHRITIDAE) PADA TANAMAN PEPAYA (Curica papaya LAMK.)
The research was to know the effective dosage and time limit of metyl eugenol to trap Bactrocera dorsalis Hend. The research was conducted at plantation of papaya crops at village of Tanjung Seteko Indralaya district, Ogan Ilir regency ffom August to October 2005. Tlie research was arranged in a Grouply Randomized Design where data was analysed by analyses of variance, with five treatments and five replications. The parameters of research were amount the imago of fruit flies caught, the time limit of metyl eugenol and species of fruit flies. The results showed that the highest population of trapped imago was by 1.25 ml dosage of metyl eugenol 575 individues, while the lowest was by 0.25 ml dosage of metyl eugenol 170 individues. The longest time limit of metyl eugenol in trapped fruit flies was by 1.25 ml dosage and the shortest was by 0.25 ml of dosage. Results of the research indicated that there were two species of fruit flies, i.e, B. dorsalis and Bactrocera umbrosus Fab. founded at papaya plantation. Papaya was infected by B. dorsalis.
