The COVID-19 outbreak has been declared a worldwide pandemic by WHO. Orphanage foster children living side by side do not rule out the possibility of being exposed to Covid-19, especially if there is interaction between visitors and foster children. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge of personal hygiene, knowledge of preventing transmission of Covid-19, and environmental sanitation for foster children to efforts to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 at the Darrul Aitam Foundation Orphanage in Palembang. This research isresearch descriptive with quantitative method and usingdesign cross sectional. The sample in this study amounted to 63 respondents who were selected by the total sampling method. Data analysis used chi square test and fisher exact test. The results show that the univariate results of foster children who implement efforts to prevent Covid-19 transmission are good (69.8%), foster children with good personal hygiene knowledge (68.3%), foster children with good prevention knowledge (69.8%). Bivariate Results Efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19 with foster children who have good personal hygiene knowledge are 59% higher than foster children who have less personal hygiene knowledge (42.1%). The results of bivariate efforts to prevent transmission of Covid-19 with foster children who have good knowledge of prevention of transmission are 31% higher than foster children who have less personal hygiene knowledge (34.1%). with (p-value= 0.007). While the knowledge variable on preventing the spread of Covid-19 is not related to efforts to prevent the transmission of Covid-19 with (p-value = 0.379). Environmental sanitation at the Darrul Aitam Foundation Orphanage can be categorized as good, judging from the availability of hand washing facilities, toilets, bathrooms, and temporary waste storage areas. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between knowledge of personal hygiene and efforts to prevent transmission of Covid-19, there is no relationship between knowledge of prevention of transmission and efforts to prevent transmission of Covid-19 and environmental sanitation at the Darrul Aitam Foundation Orphanage is good.
