ANALISIS HIGIENE SANITASI DAN KUALITAS BAKTERI ESCHERICHIA COLI PADA AIR MINUM ISI ULANG DI KECAMATAN ILIR BARAT I KOTA PALEMBANG
The existence of depot refillable drinking water in West Ilir District I experienced an increase in the number of drinking water depots that are feared to affect the bacteriological quality of processed drinking water. Initial surveys conducted at several West Ilir I drinking water depots that in terms of physical looks there are still some drinking water depots that do not meet the standards. The purpose of this study was to conduct a hygiene analysis of sanitation and the presence of Escherichia coli bacteria in water from a refill depot in West Ilir District I of Palembang City.. This study is a qualitative study with descriptive methods conducted at 6 refillable drinking water depots in West Ilir District I Palembang City and samples of respondents were conducted purposively. The respondents consisted of 7 key informants and 12 regular informants, and conducted in-depth interviews, while laboratory tests of e.coli bacteria using the MPN(Most Probable Number)method. The results of laboratory tests from six drinking water depots showed that there was no presence of e.coli bacteria in all drinking water samples. Observations and interviews are known that drinking water depots all smoke, do not wear special work clothes, do not do health checks at least 1 time a year, and have never taken a sanitary hygiene course drinking water depot, drinking water depot also has no hand washing equipped with running water and soap. The study concluded that the drinking water quality of the six samples was qualified and safe to consume due to the absence of Escherichia coli bacteria and sanitary hygiene conditions of refillable drinking water depots still exist that do not meet the hygiene requirements of drinking water. Based on the results studied, e.coli bacteria were found, but depot owners must still provide a place to wash their hands with running water and soap to keep applying hygiene behavior to prevent contamination.
