The objective of research was to know the species, population, and attack degree of the oriental fruit fly with methyl eugenol trap on fruitstar. The research was conducted at fruitstar crop in five villages District Inderalaya, Ogan Ilir ffomOctober 2004 until December 2004.The method used was purposive sampling, by using methyl eugenol trapapplied in fruitstar crop in each village. The parameters of research were amount offruit fly caught, and attack level. The data was analysed by tabulation and description. The result obtained were two species of the oriental fruit fly: Bactrocera dorsalis and Bactrocera umbrosus. The highest population of oriental fruit fly was 3777 individu per eight observations at Tanjung Gelam and the lowest was 2189 individu per eight observations at Sakatiga. The highest attack level 80% at Sakatiga and the lowest was 65% at Tanjung Seteko.
