PREVALENSI DEPRESI, ANSIETAS, DAN STRES PADA SISWA SMA NEGERI 10 PALEMBANG
Introduction: Adolescents are the age group of 10 to 18 years. Physical, social, and emotional changes make adolescents vulnerable to mental disorders. Depression, anxiety, and stress are mental disorders that often occur in adolescence. Mental disorders have an impact in the form of suicidal behavior. Globally, depression is the fourth leading cause and anxiety is the ninth cause of mental disorders in adolescents aged of 15-19 years. In Indonesia, based on Riskesdas data in 2018, 6.2% in the 15-24 year age group experienced depression, while in South Sumatra 2.35% experienced depression. According to research conducted by Nurtanti and Handayani (2021) at one of the Vocational High Schools in Wonogiri, 12.1% of adolescents experienced depression, 39.8% of anxiety, and 48.1% of stress. This study aims to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety, and stress in students of SMA Negeri 10 Palembang. Methods: This study used a descriptive observational research design with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all students of SMA Negeri 10 Palembang who were the research subjects and included in the inclusion criteria. Data were collected through a Depression, Anxiety and Stress Scale (DASS) 42 questionnaire in Indonesian. Results: The results of this study showed that the majority of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress occurred in students aged 16 years, women, from Palembang City, economic status below the minimum wage, no chronic history, living with nuclear family, and grade 12. Conclusion: The prevalence of symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress in SMA Negeri 10 Palembang students was 49.2%, 75.2%, and 53.3% with moderate severity.
