HUBUNGAN ANTARA PERILAKU VAGINAL HYGIENE DENGAN KEPUTIHAN PATOLOGIS PADA SISWI SMAN 3 PALEMBANG
Pathological vaginal discharge is abnormal excessive vaginal discharge from the female genital tract accompanied by odor, pain and itching. One of the risk factors that can cause pathological vaginal discharge in adolescent girls is poor vaginal hygiene behavior. Based on age, high school students are in the category of middle teens, where at this time young women have less knowledge about genital organ problems and the consequences resulted from bad behavior is experiancing genital organs problem. Vaginal discharge in adolescents can cause a lack of selfconfidence, interfere the comfort in daily activities and can cause further problems. Based on several studies, there are still differences between the relationship between vaginal hygiene behavior and pathological vaginal discharge. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct research on the relationship between vaginal hygiene behavior and pathological discharge in high school students. This research is an analytic observational study using a cross sectional research design which was conducted on 66 students of SMAN 3 Palembang. The sampling technique of the study was carried out using the simple random sampling method. The data that have been collected will be analyzed univariately and bivariately using the SPSS application. The data were then presented in the form of tables and narratives to interpret the data. Of the 66 female students who participated in the study, 31 (47%) experienced pathological vaginal discharge and 35 female students (53%) did not experience pathological vaginal discharge. Of the 31 girls (47%) who experienced pathological vaginal discharge, there were 3 girls (9.7%) who had good vaginal hygiene behavior, and 28 girls (90.3%) had poor vaginal hygiene behavior.
