HUBUNGAN LAMA MENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE 2 DENGAN JENIS RETINOPATI DIABETIK DI RSUP DR.MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG TAHUN 2019-2020
DM is a serious disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin, the hormone that regulates glucose, or when the body cannot use the insulin it produces optimally. DM can be divided in to, type 1 diabetes (caused by autoimmune cell damage, usually leading to absolute insulin deficiency), type 2 diabetes (caused by a progressive and frequent loss of cellular insulin secretion against the background of insulin resistance). Prolonged hyperg lycemia in diabetes mellitus can lead to macrovascular and microvascular complications. The most common microvascular complication is diabetic retinopathy. This study aims to determine the relationship between the duration of suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus and the type of diabetic retinopathy at Dr.Mohammad Hoesin Hospital in 2019202. This study used observational analytics with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study were diabetic retinopathy patients and obtained 60 samples that met the criteria. The majority were found to be >45 years old, female, long suffering >10 years and PDR.
