HUBUNGAN ANTARA JUMLAH CD4 DENGAN KUALITAS HIDUP PASIEN INFEKSI HIV DI POLIKLINIK VCT RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system and causes a progressive decrease in CD4 levels in the body. Low CD4 cell count causes the risk of various opportunistic infections that affect health and ability to carry out daily activities, and ultimately affect quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between CD4 cell count and quality of life of HIVinfected patients. This type of research is an analytic observational cross-sectional design using primary data in the form of questionnaire results filled out directly by HIV-infected patients and secondary data in the form of laboratory results of CD4 cell counts. The sampling location is at the VCT Polyclinic, Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. The sample studied was 47 people who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between CD4 cell count and quality of life in HIV-infected patients. The higher the CD4 count, the higher the quality of life. The highest number of CD4 cells in HIV-infected patients was 200 cells/mm3, and the highest quality of life was in the moderate category. Based on age, HIV infection is mostly found at the age of 26-35 years. Based on gender, most HIV infection in men. Based on the level of education, the most is the high school level. Based on marital status, most HIV-infected patients have unmarried status. Based on the mode of transmission, most patients are infected through sexual intercourse. Based on the duration of diagnosis, most HIV-infected patients were diagnosed within 1 year.
