HUBUNGAN FAKTOR RISIKO DENGAN KEJADIAN KARSINOMA NASOFARING DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JANUARI-DESEMBER 2020
Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is a type of epithelial carcinoma originating from the mucosal lining of the nasopharynx. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor of the head and neck in Indonesia and occupies aranked 5th malignant tumor of the human body based on its incidence and mortality rate in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of risk factors the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang period 1 January-31 December 2020. This study is an observational analytic study with a cross-sectional design. Samples were taken using the total sampling method in accordance with the inclusion criteria. The data taken are primary and secondary data, in the form of telephone interviews with patients and medical records. This study showed that there was a relationship between age and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,038). There was a significant relationship between gender and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,014). There was a significant relationship between smoking and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,012). There was a significant relationship between the consumption of salted fish with the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,010). There was a significant relationship between the consumption of grilled fish or meat with the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,017). There was a significant relationship between the consumption of canned food and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,001). There was a significant relationship between education level and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,07). There was a significant relationship between occupation and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,016). There was a significant relationship between income and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,043). There was no relationship between alcohol consumption and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (p=0,612).
Based on the results, there is a significant relationship between the risk factors of age, sex, smoking, consumption of salted fish, consumption of grilled fish or meat, consumption of canned food, education level, occupation, and income with the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma. However, there is no relationship between alcohol consumption and the incidence of nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
