HUBUNGAN KONTRASEPSI HORMONAL DENGAN KANKER SERVIKS DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer new case and the third most cancer death case in 2020. New cases and cervical cancer deaths are expected to increase in 2040. The main risk factor for cervical cancer is HPV infection. Hormonal contraception is one of the risk factors for cervical cancer. Hormonal contraceptives are still in demand by active contraceptive acceptors in Palembang. Other risk factors for cervical cancer are parity > 3 children, low education, not working, smoking, marriage history > 1 time, family history of cervical cancer, age at first marriage 5 years (p=0.001; OR=13), type of injectable hormonal contraception (p=0.035; OR=5.2) and implants (p=0.000; OR=4.25) was significantly associated with cervical cancer. Meanwhile, duration of use of hormonal contraception ≤5 years, type of hormonal contraceptive pill, parity, education, occupation, smoking, marital history, family history, and age at first marriage were not significantly associated with cervical cancer (p>0.005). The use of hormonal contraception is the most dominant variable affecting cervical cancer. The use of hormonal contraceptives is significantly associated with cervical cancer.
