Toddlers are the age group most vulnerable to URI because the respiratory protection system has not been fully formed. Concentration of particulate Matter 10 µg /m3 in the house can be a risk factors for the incidence of URI in children under five. This research aims to know the relationship between the concentration of particulate matter 10 µg /m3 in house with the incidence URI in children under five in Talang Nangka Village, Lembak District, Muara Enim Regency. This research is a observational research using cross sectional study design with techniques simple random sampling as many as 92 respondents. Data analyzed univariate, bivariate and multivariate. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was the relationship between the concentrations of PM10 in the house (p-value 0,0001), type of house (p-value 0,048), natural lighting (p-value 0,001), ventilation area (p-value 0,0046), temperature (p-value 0,040), humidty (p-value 0,0001), non relationship between exposure to ciggarete smoke (p-value 0,153) and drug use mosquito smoke (p-value 0,333) with under five, and results multivariate analysis showed significant relationship between concentration of PM10 in the house with the incidence of URI in children under five (p-value 0,047) after controlling for the variable ciggarette smoke exposure, temperature, ventilation area, type house, natural lighting and humidity (PR= 3,321, 95% CI= 1,071-10,843). It can be concluded that toddlers who are exposed to PM10 in the home who don’t meet the requirements increase the risk of incidence URI. It is expected that mothers under five should pay attention to the cleanliness of the physical environment of the house dust particulate, routinely opening windows in the morning and afternoon, putting up cloths gauze on the open ventilation holes, keeping familiy members away smoking near toddlers, and replace the use of mosquito coils with put up a mosquito net.
