Relationship of Individual Characteristics and Level Of Preparedness Smog Calamity In Darat Village Pangkalan Lampam xi+77 pages, 16 tables, 2 pictures,4 enclosures ABSTRACT Frequent fires of land and forest in Indonesia caused smoke haze that has adverse effects oh health, environment and economic sectors. Darat village is one of the five priority districts of haze prone areas in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatera. The smoke haze is almost annually occurred in Darat Village. Preparedness is a disaster management step in the pre-disaster stage.This study aims to analyze the relationship of individual characteristics with the level of preparedness for the smog disaster in Darat village, Pangkalan Lampam’s sub-district Ogan Komering Ilir’s district, South Sumatra. This research was a qualitative methods with cross sectional design study also data collection techniques through questionnaires. Based on data analysis, Darat’s Villagers have a the level of community preparedness is not ready as much as (71.9%), high knowledge as much as (66.7%). In addition, the attitudes of Darat’s Villagers are included in the good attitude category as much as (57.3%), have a good emergency response plan as much as (84.4%), have a good disaster warning system as much as (65.6%), while for resource mobilization has a good mobilization as much as (64.6%).The government is expected to resume the counselling about smoke haze disaster especially when approaching dry season also to forming a team or cadre to dissemination of information about how to countermeasures smoke haze so all of the community get the information.
