The use of composite Fe3C>4-activated carbon of palm oil shell to adsorption purple dye procion of songket industrial wastewater reported in this researh. The purpose of this research is to determine characterization of activated carbon made from palm shell by using H3PO4 4M activation with temperature 300°C includes activated carbon adsorption to iodine, absorption to methylene blue, ash content, and moisture content. Conducting Fe304 synthesis by coprecipitation method and Fe304 composite manufacturing - activated carbon, The characterization by using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and XRD (X-ray diffraction). Determine the optimum conditions adsorption of the composite with variable weight of the composite, contact time, pH, and initial conccntration, determine the adsorption kinetics. Determining the effectiveness of Fe304 composite adsorption activated carbon for wastewater songket industry. Activated carbon had adsorption of the iodine was 1209.39 mg / g, the methylene blue adsorption was 212.739 mg / g, ash content was 0.04%, and moisture content was 1.8%. Characterization of composites made from activated carbon and Fe304 with a ratio of 1:1 using XRD showed the presence of phase Fe304, The results of SEM showed Fe304 some of into the pores of activated carbon and some spread on the surface of activated carbon. Optimum conditions adsorption purple dye Procion using the composite shared at weight of the composite was 35 mg, contact time 40 minutes, pH 8. The adsorption effectivity was obtained at the optimum conditions of 97.38%. Application optimum conditions dye songket industrial wastewater, had adsorption effectivity 76.884%. Reaction kinetics showed orde 1 values of r = 0.934 with the concentration of the reaction rate was 0.042 / minute.
