PELEPASAN PARASITOID LARVA Liriomyza sativae (BLANCHARD) (DIPTERA: AGROMYZIDAE), Hemiptarsenus varicornis (GIRAULT) (HYMENOPTERA: EULOPHIDAE) PADA TANAMAN KETIMUN
This study was objected to assess the impact of larval parasitoid release on the population and attack of Liriomyza salivae and has been carried out at grower’s and experimental farm of Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Campus, from July to August 2006. Direct observation on the sampling plants have been conducted. The results were performed as tabulary, curve and histogram forms. All obtained data were analysed descriptively. The highest severity of attack of L. sativae has been found on 4 and 3 weeks cucumber plant: 13.2 % (grower’s farm) and 9.92 % (experimental farm). Generally, the release of larval parasitoid might suppress the severity of attack of L. sativae on cucumber up to 1.44 %. There was a relationship between the length of parasitoid stay and the severity of attack. The longer of parasitoid and host association, the severity would be lower. Three species of parasitoids have been found during this study. They were Neochrysocharis spp., N. okazakii, and H. varicornis. They could be differed easily by looking abdomen, antennae and color of outer surface.
