EFEKTIVITAS MINYAK DAUN SELASIH (Ocimum sp.) SEBAGAI ATRAKTAN LALAT BUAH (Bactrocera spp.) (DIPTERA: TEPHRITIDAE) PADA TANAMAN CABAI (Capsicum annuum L.)
The purpose of the research was to invesgate effectivity of basil oil as attractant for fruit flies and it’s Iength of time effectivity. The research was conducted in Tanjung Seteko village at Inderalaya district, Ogan Ilir regency, from February to April 2007. The research was arranged in Completely Randomized Block Design with four treatments and six replications. The observations were species of fruit flies, number of fruit flies trapped, and long time trapped of attractant. The result showed that the species of fruit flies had been identified i.e Bactrocera dorsalis Hend and Bactrocera wnbrosus Fab. The purple basil oil and green basil oil were effective as attractant of B. dorsalis male and female. B. dorsalis trapped on purple basil oil were 3298 male and 242 female while on green basil oil were 2441 male and 238 female. The highest number of fruit flies trapped on metil eugenol was 3886, while the lowest one was on chilli fruits extract (21). The average effectivity period was 25 days on purple basil oil and 24 days on green basil oil.
