Short-term memory is a process of storing information, quickly stored in seconds to hours with a limited capacity and has a large role, namely as a place to process new information from the surrounding environment. Reciting Qur'an is an activity in the form of reading the holy verses of the Qur'an, which can have a relaxing and calming effect to improve memory. However, until now, research on the effect of reciting Qur'an on short term memory is still very few and difficult to find. Because of it, this research was conducted to determine the effect of reciting Qur'an on short term memory using a forward digit span test on Faculty students. Sriwijaya University Medicine. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with Non-Equivalent Control Group, namely by comparing the results from before (pretest) and after intervention (post-test) in the intervention group with the control group carried out during the research period November 2021. The sample used in this study were students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University batch 2018, who met the inclusion criteria. The sample was divided into two groups, namely the intervention group and the control group. The pre-test and post-test used were by forward digit span test. The intervention group was given intervention in the form of reciting Qur'an for six consecutive days at 22.00 WIB through zoom meetings. The control group was not given the intervention. Each group amounted to 42 research subjects. The results showed a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test in the intervention group, while there was no significant difference in the control group. Supported by statistical test results, there is a significant difference between the post-test mean of the two groups. This research proves that there is an effect of reciting Qur'an on short term memory using the forward digit span test for students of the Faculty of Medicine, Sriwijaya University.
