PENGARUH TEMPERATUR KALSINASI TERHADAP POROSITAS MONTMORILLONIT TERPILAR ZrO2
The research about the influence of calcination temperature on porosity of Zr02 pillared montmorillonite had been done. Natural montmorillonite was modified with Z1O2 as pillaring agent and porosity characterization is then performed. Parameter measured include surface area, total pore volume and pore radius average using NOVA 1000. X-Ray difffaction method was used to determine change of basal spacing among montmorillonite samples with samples before and pafter pillarization used method of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). The type of adsorption isotherm that formed (BDDT Classification) is type II for mesoporous catalysts and for the adsorption isotherm (BET), which is formed is type B for slit-shaped pores or pores between the layers are parallel. The results of this research showed that the pillared had been done which indicated by the occurrence of typical peak shift that indicates basal spacing (20 = 5.96°) moved to the left. The increase in specific surface area from 24.69 m2/g to 121.76 m2/g, total pore volume from 0.04 cc/g to be 0.17 cc/g, and a decrease in pore radius average from 34.95 A to 25.597 A. Pore size distribution by BJH method showed that the highest increase in pore radius occurs at 15.27 A for natucgd montmorillonite, and the highest increase of pore radiusup to 19.03 A occurs' inv?^ montmorillonite pillarization at calcination temperature of 550°C.
