PENGOLAHAN AWAL DAN HIDROLISIS TANDAN KOSONG KELAPA SAWIT (Elaeis guineensis) DENGAN ASAM KLORIDA PADA PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL
It has done research on the utilization of oil palm empty fruit bunches into ethanol, to increase the value to empty fruit bunches of oil palm which is the palm oil industry waste that has not been used optimally, through the process of pretreatment, hydrolysis, fermentation and distillation. Alcohol levels obtained were measured with alkoholmeter. Pretreatment process is done by soaking the powdered oil palm empty fruit bunches in a solution of hydrochloric acid 0.2% (v/v) so that the lignin content is reduced. Hydrolysis process carried out by the addition of hydrochloric acid 0%, 2%, 5% and 10% (v/v) at a temperature of 100°C for 3 hours to obtain a solution containing glucose. The hydrolysis solution containing a maximum of 17.03% glucose and then fermented in anaerobic condition for 3, 5 and 7 days using pure microbial Sacharomyces cereviseae. From the research results can be concluded that the maximum yield obtained in the fermentation for 5 days with the addition of hydrochloric acid concentration of 10% (v / v) ethanol content and yield ethanol of 22% and 20.67%.
