Postoperative nausea and vomiting was defined as the occurrence of nausea or vomiting within 24 hours after anesthesia which was recorded in the medical record. As many as 30% of more than 100 million patients who undergo surgery worldwide, after surgery will experience nausea and vomiting or called PONV. This study aims to determine the prevalence of postoperative nausea and vomiting after cesarean section with spinal anesthesia at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in October – November 2021. This study used a descriptive observational method using purposive sampling. This study used primary data in the form of direct data collection by the research team on patients who underwent caesarean section under spinal anesthesia at RSUP Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang in October – November 2021. Univariate analysis was carried out using the SPSS application. From the results of the study, it was found that 6 patients experienced postoperative nausea and vomiting (8.8%). Based on the risk factors of 6 postoperative nausea and vomiting patients, 5 patients aged 25-39 years (83.3%), 3 patients were obese 1 (50%), 5 patients did not experience hyperemesis gravidarum (83.3%), 5 patients had no history of motion sickness (83.3%), 5 patients did not smoke (83.3%), 3 patients had a history of delayed gastric emptying (50%), 4 patients did not fast before surgery (66.7%), 6 patients underwent emergency surgery (100%), 6 patients were not dehydrated (100%), 6 patients underwent surgery of 60 minutes duration (100%), 4 patients bleeding < 500 ml (66.7), 6 patients with high T6 spinal block (100%), 6 patients used intraoperative opioids (100%), 5 patients experienced intraoperative hypotension (83.3%), 6 patients experienced postoperative pain (100%), 4 patients did not experience postoperative headaches (66.7 %).
