STRATEGI ORANG TUA DALAM MENGATASI TEMPER TANTRUM PADA ANAK PENDERITA PALSI SEREBRALIS TUNAWICARA
Temper tantrums are episodes of anger that are usually described by crying, screaming, outbursts of extreme frustration, which seem like a loss of control characterized by violent or aggressive bodily negatives. The purpose of this study was to determine the strategies of parents who were influential in overcoming temper tantrums in children with speech-impaired cerebral palsy. This research is a qualitative research with a case study approach. The data were obtained from interviews, and participatory observation type with the number of participants as many as 3 children who were observed and their parents were interviewed by means of sampling in this study using non-probability sampling, namely purposive sampling. Meanwhile, the data analysis used the Miles and Hubberman model. The results of the study were found in determining the strategy of parents in overcoming temper tantrums in children with speech-impaired cerebral palsy, namely knowing the things that affect temper tantrums and the strategies of parents in overcoming temper tantrums which have positive and negative values. It is important for parents to know the characteristics, habits, and limitations of their children. By knowing the characteristics, habits and limitations of the child, parents know the cause of their child's temper tantrums and are treated according to the cause. Strategies to deal with children's temper tantrums are determined based on the things that affect the child's temper tantrums.
