PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PROBIOTIK DARI SILASE RUMPUT KUMPAI TEMBAGA TERHADAP BOBOT POTONG, PERSENTASE KARKAS DAN IRISAN KARKAS KOMERSIL ITIK PEGAGAN
Abstract Pegagan duck is a type of meat-producing waterfowl. Provision of Probiotics can increase the absorption of nutrients so that it can optimally produce slaughter weight, carcass percentage and commercial carcass slices of Pegagan duck. This study aims to determine the weight of slaughter, carcass percentage and commercial carcass slices of Pegagan duck administrated with probiotics from kumpai tembaga grass silage. The study was conducted from April to June 2017 in experimental cages and Laboratory of Animal Feed and Nutrition in the Animal Science Departement, Facullty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This study used a complete randomized design (RAL) with 5 treatments and 4 replications. Treatments consist of P0 (control), P1 (probiotics with concentration of 106); P2 (probiotics with concentration of 107); P3 (probiotics with a concentration of 108); P4 (probiotics with concentration of 109). The Variables observed were slaughter weight, carcass percentage and commercial carcass slices. The result of this research showed that the probiotic from the silage of kumpai tembaga grass had significant effect (P0,05) on the thigh, wighs and back on commercial carcass slices. It can be concludend that the use of probiotics derived from kumpai tembaga grass silage with a concentration of 108 is able to produce optimally slaughter weight carcass percentage and commercial carcass slices. Keywords: Pegagan ducks, probiotics, slaughter weights, carcass percentage.
