Thalassemia and iron deficiency anemia are blood disorders characterized by paleness and fatigue. In Indonesia, the prevalence of th alassemia is around 3 while the prevalence of iron deficiency anemia is around 40-- 10%, 50%. With the high prevalence of thalassemia and iron deficiency anemia, it is very important for medical students to know about thalassemia and iron deficiency anemia. The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in knowledge scores about thalassemia and iron deficiency anemia . This study used a analytical descriptive study among medical students. The knowledge score was taken using a questionnaire in the f orm of a google form in November 2021. The data obtained were then analyzed using the Mann Whitney U test.The results showed that the number of respondents involved were 227 FK Unsri students aged 16 21 years. Respondents consisted of 151 (66,5%) women an d 76 (33,5%) men. In the normality test, the two data were not normal distributed (p = 0.000). The median score of knowledge of thalassemia was 67,00 and the median score of knowledge of iron deficiency anemia was 60,00. The difference test showed that the re was no difference between the two data (Asym. Sig. (2tailed) = 0,000). It can be concluded, in this study, there is a difference between knowledge scores about thalassemia and knowledge scores about iron deficiency anemia .
